Position of previously published and newly introduced ITS primers in the 5.8S nrDNA region (5’ → 3’). Primer positions may be shifted by ± 2 bp in comparison to previously published alignments due to different annotation software being used to identify the 5.8S region. Primers usually used to amplify the ITS1 region (Table 1) have been reverse-complemented to fit the 5’ → 3’ plus strand orientation of the figure.
